Is this a real legal engagement?
Yes. Once you submit intake and we confirm scope, we'll send you an engagement letter. The audit is limited to the five diagnostic checks — nothing broader — but everything inside that scope is real attorney work under a real engagement.
What if my Sound Check comes back clean?
Then you're done. You've spent $495 (or $995) to confirm you're in good shape, and we tell you as much in writing. We don't manufacture problems.
And if it doesn't?
Every finding comes with a fixed-price quote to fix it. You take the ones you want, leave the ones you don't. No retainer, no minimum, no pressure.
Solo vs. band — how do you decide which tier I am?
If there's more than one songwriter or performer sharing ownership of the works we're reviewing, it's band. If it's just you (even with collaborators on individual tracks), it's solo. When in doubt, we'll tell you before you pay.
Do I have to be in New York or California?
Our attorneys are licensed in California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and D.C. For the diagnostic itself we can work with artists anywhere in the U.S., but if a finding requires state-specific litigation or filing beyond those jurisdictions, we'll refer you out.
Why do you make me pay when a lot of firms will do this for free?
Because free consultations are usually sales calls, not audits. Paying a flat fee is what makes this a real diagnostic — we do the work, deliver the report, and owe you an answer regardless of whether more work follows.
